BoAt Rockerz 255 is one of the most selling wireless earphones in the online marketplace. Now it got three editions and the price difference is not much.
From the surface level, you might think that it doesn’t have much difference because all got 16 ohms impedance and 10 mm drivers.
But BoAt did a tricky thing here. So if you don’t have the necessary information you might end up making a terrible decision.
This BoAt Rockerz 255 vs 255 Pro vs 255 Pro+ ultimate comparison article will go deep into each earphone and include all the things you need to choose the right one for you.
So, let’s dive in.

Design & Build Quality
Sorry to start with some negative aspects but I really wish BoAt would improve the design and build quality along with the sound, bass, battery and some other features.
The neckband feels big, bulky and kind of cheap. The button area of the neckband is also made of plastic instead of metal.
The earbuds normally are comfortable but using the wings for more than 30-40 minutes hurts my ears. But the good thing is you can remove them.
Compared to the neckband quality and looks, the earbuds look better. There’s a mixture of a glossy metallic and matte finish.
All editions come in 13 different colours options including the IPL editions. In my opinion, instead of the solid colours, the Neon, Ocean Blue looks better because of those colour stirps on the overall body.
Even though I said Rockerz 225 looks and feels bulky, all of them are very lightweight actually (around 26 grams).
It is true that looks always doesn’t matter but still compared to the competition, they could easily do some improvement.
So, don’t expect much in terms of looks and build quality but based on the price tag, it could be better.
Bass & Sound Quality
All BoAt Rockerz 255 editions have 16 ohms impedance, 20Hz-20KHz frequency and 10mm bass drivers.
Now, you might think that they all provide the same kind of experience. But that’s not the case.
Even though the Pro and Pro+ editions sound almost identical, the normal Rockerz 225 is way behind compared to those two.
Both Pro and Pro+ editions have almost the same sound quality as OnePlus Bullets Z. Notice that almost but the same.
Bullets Z provides even crispier and clearer sound quality but based on price, Rockerz 255 Pro and Pro+ are some real deal.
As for bass, Rockerz 255 Pro+ got the best bass. The Rockerz 255 Pro is very close but I felt Pro+ deeper. Not much but a bit deeper.
The normal edition has a nice balanced bass but it doesn’t really feel like bass from 10 mm drivers. It’s more like 9.2 mm or lower size drivers.
The one thing I appreciated about this model, is that the bass doesn’t overpower the sound like the majority of the BoAt earphones.
To conclude, There’s not much difference between the Pro and Pro+. But normal Rockerz 255 has some noticeable differences.
So, it got the money than going with Rockerz 255 Pro+ will be worth it. If your budget is lower and thinking about the Pro version then I don’t really think you will miss out too much.
But before you close this article, just hold on and check the next section before choosing or you might end up regretting your decision.
Battery Life & Charging Time
In my opinion, this is the section that makes these three editions the most.
The Rockerz 255, 255 Pro and 255 Pro+ have 8 hours, 10 hours and 40 hours of full battery life respectively. You can see the massive jump right?
Not only that, the Rockerz 255 doesn’t have fast charging while the Pro and Pro+ have.
You will be surprised to know that Rocker 255 Pro can get up to 2 hours of backup from 10 minutes while 255 Pro+ can last up to 10 hours from 10 minutes (just like Bullets Z).
Based on the competition and the usage, 8-10 hours can be pretty mediocre. But the 40 hours is an absolute game-changer.
The total charging time also increases along with the full battery life. Both Rockerz 255 and 255 Pro takes around 1-1.5 hours to fully charge. The 255 Pro+ can take up to 2 hours.
Remote & Functions
A multi-function panel can be found at the left end of the neckband with all the necessary buttons like volume control, voice assistant, taking/ending calls, etc.
Note that, based on the colour option the location of the buttons can vary. For example, the black edition has buttons on the right side of the neckband.
But some other colour version comes with an additional in-line remote with all the buttons.
The additional remote makes it bulkier in my opinion.
Bluetooth Version: All editions have Bluetooth 5.0 with a 10 m range. As per my experience, 255 Pro and Pro+ provide more stable connectivity.
Water-Resistance: Rockerz 255 and 255 Pro is IPX5 rated. Only Rockerz 255 Pro+ is IPX7 rated. For neckband earphones, IPX5 is enough. So, having IPX7 is obviously more than enough.
Call/Mic Quality: Sadly, my call and zoom session experience with Rockerz 255 and 255 Pro is not that great. But compared to the two 255 Pro+ has a better mic. It got some complaints as well but good enough.
Noise Cancellation: The Pro & Pro+ is slightly better (just a little bit) at cancelling noise. Unless you are using them in a too noisy a place, you will be fine.
Accessories: Micro USB cable for charging, earbuds of different sizes, and all the required papers like the manual, warranty card, etc are included.
Users’ Report, Pros & Cons
Boat Rockerz 255
For a budget of Rs 1000, BoatRockerz 255 is a satisfying wireless earphone for budget users. The sound quality and bass are perfect for listening to songs and mobile gaming.
A good amount of users have complained that they need to hold to the mic near their face during calls. One more thing is the mediocre battery life.
BoAt Rockerz 255 Pro
BoAt Rockerz 255 Pro successfully retained the sound quality but the customers’ found the bass a bit lighter than the previous version.
Users’ are happy with the increased battery life and lower charging time and some great features like fast charging and better passive noise cancelling.
But the design, build quality, mic quality is still disappointing. Also, users were expecting USB-C this time instead of Micro-USB.
BoAt Rockerz 255 Pro+
Customers’ are overwhelmed seeing all the features of BoAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ at such a cheap price. Users’ are highly satisfied with the sound, bass quality, and huge battery backup.
There are a few complaints about not working anymore after a short period of time but nothing major. Also, users’ found the connecting time too long.
5 Reasons To Choose BoAt Rockerz 255 Pro+
Huge battery backup: It got four times bigger battery backup than the 255 Pro edition.
Better Bass: By far in my opinion, among the three editions, 255 Pro+ has the deepest bass.
IPX7 Water-resistance: It’s not a huge point to choose it but yes IPX7 is a nice feature to have.
Dual pairing: It let you stay connected with two devices at the same time without having to switch like earphones like Bullets Z.
Worth your money: The only flaw is the design and build quality. But the quality and features 255 Pro+ is providing under the 1,500 rupees price range is just a no-brainer.
To conclude this article, if you are not willing to spend more than 1,500 rupees, Rockerz 255 Pro+ is a nice deal.
I also think that, in this price range, Rockerz 255 Pro+ is the best piece of wireless earphone one can get.
