Because the price of Mi Super Bass is very close to Rs 2000, I’ll be comparing it with Rockerz 450 Pro to make the game fair.
This BoAt Rockerz 450 Pro vs MI Super Bass ultimate comparison article will go deep into each earphone and include all the things you need to choose the right one for you.
So, let’s dive in.
BoAt Rockerz 450 Pro
MI Super Bass
Design & Build Quality
One thing I’ll like to confess here first. When I saw Mi Super Bass in images then it instantly caught my attention because of the awesome design and finishing. Also, it was looking very durable and premium.
But when I got this headphone in my hands, the design was the same premium looking but not the material.
The finishing is not as good as it was looking like and also the plastic quality is average and not so satisfied with the quality of earpads.
In short, what I’m saying is it looks good but the build/material quality is very average. Not like what a Rs 1700-1800 headphone should be.
BoAt Rockerz 450 Pro on the other hand is a decent product. Which I have mentioned countless times. It is the best-looking BoAt on-ear headphone.
Without being biased I can say everything about Rockerz 450 Pro is top-notch. It looks exactly as shown in the pictures.
The only problem with Rockerz 450 Pro is that it’s not so durable. Not recommended to carry it around in your backpack without a case.
As for comfort, both hurt my ears after some time. But Mi Super Bass starts to cause pain very earlier.
I was thinking Mi Super Bass would be more comfortable than Rockerz 450 Pro as it’s lighter. But my personal experience is proved me wrong.
Mi Super Bass comes in 2 colours and Rockerz 450 Pro has 4 colours & 3 Marvel themes.
In my opinion, Rockerz 450 Pro has a better design and build quality. It’s not suitable for longer sessions but at least more comfortable than Mi Super Bass.
Bass & Sound Quality
Both headphones have a 20-20kHz frequency range, 32 ohms impedance, and 40mm drivers.
Not sure about the sensitivity of Mi Super Bass but Rockerz 450 Pro has 108dB/mW sensitivity. Which is decent.
In a very short time, I noticed two major flaws in Mi Super Bass. Rockerz 450 Pro has one flaw as well but not troublesome.
Firstly, Mi Super Bass has good & deep bass with good sound quality. But in songs with deep basslines (kick drums or pedal keyboard), the bass of this headphone overpowers other chords and sometimes the vocals.
Secondly, the sound gets distorted in high volume or when the pitch is high. This means the speakers are not that good.
Rockerz 450 Pro on the other hand is slightly bass-heavy as well. But it doesn’t ruin anything. You might even like it if you love very deep bass. I just prefer balanced.
To conclude, my vote will be on Rockerz 450 Pro here as well for a good balance between treble and bass. Even the standard version of Rockerz 450 is better than Mi Super Bass.
Battery Life & Charging Time
Rockerz 450 Pro & Mi Super Bass have a total battery life of 70 hours & 20 hours respectively. What I have noticed is that Mi runs out a bit early than that.
The 20 hours of playback itself is very good actually. The Rockerz 450 non-Pro has a very close battery life as well (15 hours).
Mi Super Bass & Rockerz 450 Pro take 2 hours & 2.5-3 hours to get fully charged. Rockerz 450 Pro offers fast charging (10 hours in 10 minutes).
Rockerz 450 Pro has USB-C support for charging. I was expecting the same with Mi Super Bass at this price. But sadly it has micro-USB.
Controls & Functions
Both have the same 3 buttons on the left side. One multifunction button for power, play/pause, take/end calls, activating voice assistant.
The other 2 buttons are obviously for volume control. The only difference is the button placements.
Connectivity: Both have Bluetooth 5.0 (10m range) with an AUX port for wired connectivity with 3.5mm jack support.
Water-Resistance: IPX7 rated Rockerz 450 Pro provides dust, sweat & water-resistant. But Mi Super Bass is not.
Call/Mic Quality: Both headphones have an in-built mic and are good enough for calling.
Noise Cancellation: Neither have ANC only passive noise cancellation.
Accessories: Charging cable, AUX cable, and all the required papers like the manual, warranty card, etc are included.
Users’ Report, Pros & Cons
BoAt Rockerz 450 Pro
Customers are shocked by seeing the battery backup. It literally lasts a whole month with a single charge. The sound is very clear with deep bass. More stable because of BT 5.0.
Slightly painful for longer sessions but they recommended it to anyone looking for a BT headphone under Rs 2000.
Mi Super Bass
Mi Super Bass got some love for the sound, bass, stable connectivity, and good battery life. But the majority are not satisfied with the build quality and the earpads.
Users recommend exploring some other brands to get a better alternative under Rs 2000.
6 Reasons To Choose BoAt Rockerz 450 Pro
Better sound quality: It doesn’t get distorted, the bass is not as overpowering as Mi Super Bass.
Better build quality: The adjuster part of the headband is a bit fragile but the overall quality is a lot better.
50 hours longer life: Rockerz 450 Pro provides 70 hours of playback time.
IPX7-rated: Ideal for running and exercising while Mi Super Bass isn’t IP-rated.
USB-C charging: No need to pay attention to plug orientation.
ASAP charging: Get about 10 hours of playback time in 10 hours.
I had very expectations from Mi Super Bass, but it only disappointed me in many ways. Even the Rockerz 450 non-Pro will beat this and has a very affordable price.
