Both Realme Buds 2 and JBL C100SI belong to the list of best-wired earphones under Rs 1000.
Realme and JBL are very reputed brands for earphones. So, without deep knowledge or actual experience, it can be really hard to get to a conclusion.
This Realme Buds 2 vs JBL C100SI ultimate comparison article will go deep into each earphone and include all the things you need to choose the right one for you.
So, let’s dive in.
Realme Buds 2
Design & Build Quality
Both Realme Buds 2 and JBL C100SI are designed for comfort. Both have angled in-ear designs for easy fit and better comfort.
The difference is the earbud shape and finish type. Realme Buds 2 has an overall matte finish with some glossy touch and an ‘R’ logo on the flat area.
In JBL C100SI you get to see around structure with glossy finish and brand logo. Both feel very lightweight and well-built.
Realme Buds 2 comes in 4 colours and JBL C100SI has 3 colours. I suggest avoiding JBL C100SI white variant as the cables tend to get dirty fast.
Both are very ergonomically built. So, I don’t really have any complaints about any of the earphones. Realme Buds 2 is just a bit more design-focused.
Bass & Sound Quality
Realme Buds 2 and JBL C100SI have the same frequency range 20-20kHz. If you also want to use them with a laptop or desktop as well then stay focused.
Realme Buds 2 and JBL C100SI have 32 ohms and 16 ohms impedance respectively. When it comes to sound pressure level (SPL), it’s 106dB and 119dB respectively.
Now earphones with 32 ohms and 99dB SPL or more are considered ideal for laptops and desktops.
Realme Buds 2 is successfully fulfilling the criteria as it has 32 ohms impedance and 106dB SPL but JBL C100SI might have 119dB SPL but the impedance is 16 ohms.
You can still use it with a laptop or desktop but won’t get maximum output. Not to mention they are both ideal for devices like smartphones & tablets.
Realme Buds 2 is good for smartphones, tablets, laptops & desktops but JBL C100SI is only designed for smartphones and tablets.
Now for the bass, JBL C100SI has 9mm bass drivers which are pretty average. Not so impactful unless you are using an equalizer.
While The 11.2mm bass drivers of Realme Buds 2 are alone good enough to produce deep and thumping bass.
As for sound quality, Realme always does a great job and Realme Buds 2 is not an exception. The low, mid, and high are perfectly balanced.
On the other hand, JBL C100SI is good as well. The treble is on the higher side which was a bit problematic for me as the bass is also low. Also, the sound is not that loud.
To conclude, Realme Buds 2 is better from every angle. Good for both phones and laptops/PCs, has better sound quality, deeper bass.
Mic, Remote & Functions
Realme Buds 2 and JBL C100SI have an in-line remote with a mic. With the button in the middle, you can take/end calls, pause/play music/video, double-tap to skip tracks, and long press to activate voice assistant.
What I really liked is the in-line remote of Realme Buds 2 has 2 more buttons for controlling volume. You don’t always need your phone to adjust the volume.
Cable & jack: Realme Buds 2 has a tough braided cable but male silver 3.5mm jack and JBL C100SI has normal rubber coated cable with 3.5mm gold-plated male jack.
Water-Resistance: No official mention of any IP rating or anything about sweat or water resistance.
Call/Mic Quality: Both have a good mic. I prefer Realme Buds 2 over JBL C100SI. JBL says that the mic is noise-canceling but still I noticed too much background noise.
Noise Cancellation: Make sure to use the ideal size of ear caps to cut down most of the noise.
Accessories: Ear caps/tips of different sizes, and all the required papers like the manual, warranty card, etc are included.
Users’ Report, Pros & Cons
Realme Buds 2
Based on customers’ feedback, Realme Buds 2 is very promising. It has clear and crispy sound quality with great bass.
The braided cable and magnetic features are handy for many users. Also because of the volume control buttons, users don’t need to use their phones often.
Some suggested that it could be cheaper. The straight silver jack is also a disappointment of many.
JBL C100SI is normally is a good pair of earphones with a nice build and sound quality. But for this price range users suggest considering other options as well.
The 9mm bass driver is not enough for bass lovers and also the sounds are not properly balanced. The treble may feel high.
6 Reasons To Choose Realme Buds 2
Deeper bass: Thanks to 11.2mm bass drivers. You get to enjoy deeper bass.
Balanced sound: The low, mid, and high everything is perfectly balanced for the ultimate experience.
Volume controls: Because of the volume up and down buttons with the in-line remotes, you don’t always need your phone to control volume.
Ideal for all devices: Due to 32 ohms impedance and more than 99dB SPL, it’s ideal for smartphones/laptops/PCs.
Braided cable: Braided cables usually last longer than rubber-coated cables.
Magnetic tip: When not using or putting in your backpack, the magnetic tip comes in handy to keep them organized.
The only flaw of Realme Buds 2 is not having an angled gold-plated jack. You can say it’s a bit overpriced but considering all the facts, it’s worth it.
