The Mi Dual Driver is not as popular as Realme Buds 2. But it’s a nice pair of earphones under Rs 1000 with some nice features.
But Mi Dual Driver costs more than Realme Buds 2. As both have similar features it can be confusing whether you should spend that extra money.
This Realme Buds 2 vs Mi Dual Driver ultimate comparison article will go deep into each earphone and include all the things you need to choose the right one for you.
So, let’s dive in.
Realme Buds 2
Mi Dual Driver
8mm & 10mm
Design & Build Quality
Realme Buds 2 has a unique look, dynamic colour combinations with a mixture of glossy and matte finishing.
But I have to say Mi has done a nice job with the Dual Driver. It just looks way more premium than Realme Buds 2.
I liked the shiny matte finish so much. It has a very simple design yet feels very smooth, premium and minimal. Even they tried to keep the in-line remote very minimal.
Both are very lightweight. Realme Buds 2 is 4 grams lighter according to the specs. Also, they are super easy to fit into ears for their angled earbud design.
In both earphones, you can a see cable organizer that separates the cables to the earbuds. Having these often reduce the chances of connection malfunctions.
Realme Buds 2 is available in 4 colours and Mi Dual Driver is available only in black and blue. Both look really good.
Overall both did a nice job with the build quality and the finishing but I’ll prefer the design and build quality of Mi Dul Driver anytime over Realme Buds 2.
Bass & Sound Quality
Mi Dual Driver has a frequency response of 20-40kHz while most earphones including Realme Buds 2 have a 20-20kHz frequency range.
Well according to researches, 20-20kHz is considered the ideal frequency range for human ears. We can’t really hear anything more than 20-22kHz very well.
Dogs, cats, rabbits are some of the few animals that can hear up to 40kHz frequency. So, having earphones up to 40kHz frequency is basically useless for us. Don’t fall into that trap!
Realme Buds 2 has 32 ohms impedance and 106dB SPL (Sound Pressure Level). Mi Dual Driver also has 32 ohms impedance but not really sure about the SPL.
Both are ideal for portable devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.
Now here’s the big deal. Mi Dual Driver has two different sizes of drivers – 8mm and 10mm. While Realme Buds 2 is a single-driver earphone with 11.2mm drivers.
Dual driver earphones generally sound better than single-driver earphones. Because one driver handles the bass while the other takes care of the treble, vocals, harmony, and some other stuff.
Both Realme Buds 2 and Mi Dual Driver have really good treble, clear vocals, and crispy sound quality but the Realme Buds 2 stands out because of its 11.2mm bass drivers.
There are very few earphones with bigger drivers 10mm drivers. So, having such big drivers with such nice sound quality is like a cherry on top.
To conclude, I have to admit that Mi Dual Drivers has really nice sound quality but Realme Buds 2 has a very good balance between crispy vocals and thumping bass.
Mic, Remote & Functions
Both have an in-line remote with 3 buttons and a mic. One universal button for play/pause, take/end calls, changing tracks, activating voice assistant. The other two are for controlling volume.
Cable & jack: Both have 1.2m long-lasting & tangle-free braided cable. Mi Dual Driver has a 3.5mm angled gold-plated jack while Realm Buds 2 got a normal 3.5mm silver-plated male jack.
Water-Resistance: No official mention of sweat or water resistance from the brands.
Call/Mic Quality: I have no complaints about either of the mic. Both got a really good mic for calling purposes.
Noise Cancellation: Make sure to use the ideal size of ear caps for proper passive noise cancellation.
Accessories: Ear caps/tips of different sizes, and all the required papers like the manual, warranty card, etc are included.
Users’ Report, Pros & Cons
Realme Buds 2
Based on customers’ feedback, Realme Buds 2 is very promising. It has clear and crispy sound quality with great bass.
The braided cable and magnetic features are handy for many users. Also because of the volume control buttons, users don’t need to use their phones often.
Some suggested that it could be cheaper. The straight silver jack is also a disappointment of many.
Mi Dual Driver
According to users, the treble, vocals, and overall sound experience are awesome. Few complaints about the bass but it’s satisfying.
As I mentioned earlier, the overall design and build quality are attractive to users. Also, it is super comfortable.
5 Reasons To Choose Realme Buds 2
Better & louder sound: Sure Mi Dual Drivers has dual drivers and sounds really good but Realme Buds 2 is even better and much louder.
Deeper bass: If you are a bass lover like me then you will like these 11.2mm bass drivers.
Better cables: Both have braided cables but the cables of Realme Buds 2 feel much more durable and strong.
Lighter: Just 4 grams lighter than Mi Dual Driver but still a point worth mentioning.
Cost-effective: Paying almost Rs 150-200 less you will be getting all the features (even better) except the gold-plated angled jack.
2 Reasons To Choose Mi Dual Driver
Design & build quality: If only you are about looks in the first place. If yes then it looks much better and also more comfortable.
90° gold-plated jack: Angled jack reduces the tension on the cable and gold-plated jack is corrosion-ressistant.
To be honest, I liked both. But I don’t think it is worth spending that extra money on Mi Dual Driver when we have better earphones like Realme Buds 2 at a cheaper price.
